The Radio menu has some preset Internet stations that you can 
    listen to. They are in a variety of codecs and formats - this
    illustrates how Free and Open Source software is capable of 
    using even "proprietary" formats. The application used for
    playing streams is "Mplayer".
    
    Sometimes a particular station will be unavailable or slow.
    The "rtsp" ("Real") streams for instance take a while to "buffer".
    Wait a while. Some of the streams are set up in INX so that
    if the first stream fails, a second one is tried.
    
    If you are on dial-up, streaming media may be too fast for you.
    You should be able to play "Jazz", or "Virgin Classic Rock" 
    which have low bitrates. 
    
    There are instructions in the Net and Web menu for getting 
    on-line with dial-up or direct DSL connections.
    
    Hitting "s" from the Radio menu opens up a screen where you 
    can type terms to search and play "Shoutcast" streams.
    This opens up more possibilities.
